What is Grad Night?

MORE THAN A DANCE

Grad Night is no ordinary dance or party. It’s an elaborate, large-scale, unforgettable, all-night celebration designed with our children’s fun and safety in mind. No other school in our district does this!

FUN AND SOBER

Over 400 kids attend to celebrate their huge milestone while staying sober and off the roads. It’s a historical event that for 45+ years has showcased how remarkable our SRVHS community is!

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Immeasurable efforts are made for the student experience. The night is filled with loads of varied entertainment for every taste and mood to keep the students engaged--and off the roads–-until morning.

Volunteering Tradition

Grad Night is an all-night event that requires 10,000 hours of planning, not to mention execution on the night of–-and cleanup. As an all-night event, it’s broken up into shifts. It truly takes a village, or 100+ volunteers, to be more precise.

Many people assume that Grad Night is something only parents of seniors have to think about, but we need help from everyone. In fact, there's a whole pay-it-forward tradition that involves parents of all grade levels.

Grad Night History and Fun Facts

SRV’s first Grad Night was held in 1978 to curb alcohol-related accidents whose occurrence was spiking in June, timed with graduation
SRVHS parents came together to create an event that would keep our students entertained and sober on one of the most memorable nights of their lives
It's been going for 45 years and counting!
Grad night attracts 400+ attendees each year. Typical attendance is 95% of seniors!
It requires 100+ committee members and 10,000+ volunteer hours to create this memorable event
All students are welcome (scholarships available for those who can’t purchase a ticket)
All SRVHS parents volunteer, with parents of freshmen taking the latest shifts, and moving their way to earlier time slots each year, making for a unique pay-it-forward tradition
